your ADSL speed?

what is your maximam ADSL download speed?
slt say download limit is 512kbits per second.some are think it is as 512KB per second.
but 8bit=1Byte. so download speed must be nearly 65kilo bytes per second.
I use IDM download manager software to download files.so my maximum download speed may reach to 72 kilobytes per seconds.

what is your maximum download speed?plz mention your area.

Machan it is 2mbps connection eke thamai 256kbps withara denne. For 512kbps connection eke speed eka max 70/80kbps thamai

machan IDM is a fraud. It shows all these un natural high speeds just to attract people using it :angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:. They should be hanged to death :angry:. Look @ the attatched pictures & get the idea. according to my experiance FDM is the best one. Its does not lie & is very flexible in customizations & stuff... Amazing tool. IDM sux :angry::no::no:

512 kbps ~ 64kBps (theoratical)
with the overheads & losses in the last mile technologies & packet duplications a rouch max you can get is somewhere between 55 kBps (definetely less than 60kBps :P )

ISPs have packeteers @ the ISG routers (normally) to control the traffic & MIRs.. Even @ the routers you have controllling for MIRs. So there is no way that you can get a peek avarage of 70-80 kBps in 512kbps line. Thats just insane :rofl::rofl:

The pictures below shows how IDM & FDM behaves during a typical download. The only point is IDM can lie but it cant fool around with the time :P . The download I checked is of yahoo widgets 14.63MB in size for both download managers on 512 kBps. Check with the windows time & added time on each picture.

IDM showed me a peek avg somewhere around 60 - 63kBps which is un natural. where FDM showed me somewhere between 47-52kBps which is the true speed according to my knowledge. :P

@ the end you'll see that IDM took total of 5 min 20 seconds & FDM also took about 5 mins 18 seconds which are about the same :yes::yes::yes::yes:.

they can lie about what happens in between but you cant lie with the total time. IDM lies & FDM does not :P :P :P which makes FDM better. :P
This is how IDM has been fooling people to make it popular. It really sucks :no::no:

Max is around 60 kbps with an Accelator..... ( 512 connection ) - IN Matale arena

but my office ( In col ) friends r ( They r living around colombo ) getting 100- 120 kbps with an accelerator..
What's the reason

This can't be machan , i mean 72kBps, if so the connection should be 72*8= 576Kbps

Sometimes a huge dwnlding speed is appeard on IDM. But its not the truth. I also have the same connection 512Kbps. But in some instances when I dwnld via IDM it shows 100+ sometimes. that bcos of other tech issues in relaion with the simultaneous tasks you perfom at the same time.

So if you wanna check ur actual connection speed, simply use a speed cheker available in Internet freely. Have google search. you can find thousands.
