Anyway.. If you cant remember the BIOS password, just remove the casing, remove the battery. Wait for 5 mins or so. And then fix altogether back

DOS password?i can't remember that we had passwords on DOS,we just copied command.com io.sys msdos.sys (or some other) and had fun,

i think u ar telling about BIOS password?
so do as xpert said or identify cmos clear jumper on m/b and clear it

you must be talking abt BIOS password.

do as x-pert says but you must becareful
old systems can't autodetect some self settings,
so if you make any trouble after setting the battery

dosn't make sense, probably it must be BIOS password. Do this simple test, just disconnect the hdd and turn on the system. If it still asks password its not a dos password.
