Hay guys, has anyone installed Airtel eken dena Bandluxe c270 modem eka on Ubuntu? Can you tell me how to do it?
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04.
9.04 eketh try kela, but didn't work.

When you plug it in, how does ubuntu identify it ?

At the first time it tried to mount (or something like that). But it never detects my modem.

This is my first experience with Ubuntu.

What's the exact brand and model number of that 3G dongle ?

there's no information on the web for that brand or model number. Can you find out what firmware it has ? is it a Huawei dongle with a rebranded name ?

well, they say its supported by ubuntu 9.10 and they've given the instructions as well : http://www.bandrich.com/Download/Ubuntu%209.10.zip

It didn't work as my dongle has not detected by the OS. It's not that simple as they says. (device 1k select karana thana mage dongle 1k pennanne na)

Machan its working on.personally im using it @ last month.


1. For Modem Connect:
(Support C170, C180, C270, C320 series)
Support dongles to connect network with modem port directly with built in application.

1. Plug in the dongle and after a while, the CD-ROM will pop up.

2. Right click on the CDROM icon, and select “Eject”

3. Press Network connect icon and select New Mobile Broadband (GSM) connection…

4.It pops up a window for Mobile Broadband Connection. Press Forward key.

5. Select Country and Provider as you want. Press Forward key.

1. Select System > Preferences > Network Connections

2. Select Mobile Broadband and than Add or Edit the profile you want.

doesnt that desktop icon come up as the guide says ?

firstly eject ur dongle (remove from USB port)

then restart your Ubuntu PC

after come to desktop now plug ur device.


ube anik USB plug karahama detect karanawada?

Machan wade hari giya. Just did a simple thing.

Network connection eka indicate kara icon eka right click karala beluwa.
Enable Networking and Enable Notifications kiya ewa wala vitharai tick ekak dala thibune.
Mama Enable Mobile Broadband kiyana ekata tick ekak damma.

Then I tried to make a connection. Ethakota Mobile Devices select karana place 1ke dongle 1k thiyenawa.
