Nov 9, 2006 (AFP) - Sri Lanka Thursday suspended a private radio channel for broadcasting “sexually explicit” programmes about young people’s personal problems.
The Sinhalese-language Raja FM channel was shut down because it ignored requests to drop an agony aunt program called “Three hours with Sumali”, the government’s information department said.
“It has been proved beyond doubt that these programs are aimed at corrupting the young, especially the children, and to harm the dignity of women,” the department said in a statement.
There was no immediate comment from the station, but journalists there said they had used a professional psychologist to answer listeners’ queries.
There is no censorship in Sri Lanka, but the Paris-based media watchdog, Reporters without Borders (RSF) this week said Sri Lanka was one of the most dangerous places for journalists.

It's good that dey banned dat station, mann deres nothing dat we can listen to in sri lanka>>. no i dont think so.. and i heard Some other company.. bought the Frequently from Soma Edirisinghe.. but i dont know its correct
