Dear Friend,

This is about the Bad incident happen to me from DURST Electronic in Kollupitiya.

One week back I have given my digital camera to DURST electronic for repair Also they are confirming me At the same time, there is Lance has came out and repair cost will be 5000 Rs or 6000 Rs..they are also agreed to give me within one day fast day.
when I call them after two days, I asked them whether repair done or not ? They are answered me and saying yes but cost will be 15000/=Rs for Repair.
I get surprised and asking from Jayasiri ( the person who i handerd over the camara), it cant be happen because 2 day before Y u are confirming me the cost will be 5000/=Rs or 6000/=Rs ????

he is saying sorry lets see and talk to my boss.( Owner of Durst ) but I didn't speak to him and after 15 minuets chat with Jayasiri I confirmed that ok keep the Camera ready & I will come and collect it now due to urgency of the moment.also I hared from the other side Jayasiri is calling his boss (during our discussion ),Yes boss customer is agreed to pay 15000/=Rs and we win.also boss is replying him Good ,,,,,,
( Actually I have barrow this camera from one of my friend and it was break during the time when I had.So I agreed to pay 15000/=Rs for repair because I need to give him the camera as earliest)

I when to Photo Technica in Kolluptiya very first date and they are also confirming me that repair and coast ( 5000/=Rs )same as earlier Dust Electronic confirmed, but they are asking me 4 days to repair , but cost only 5000/=RS.
I have gone up to Durst, Because of the Urgency. Original Prize of my Camera 35000/=Rs >>>>>>Repair cost for it 15000/=Rs

I know I am not the 1st man who face same situation for DURST Electronic,There for please think twice before go to DURST Electronic.

( Camera Technician Mangala who repair my camera, he also confirmed me what has happen to the camera & cost will be maximum 6000/=Rs for repair,on very first day)

Actualy This also happened to me. They said 11,000/= but at last i paid 23,000?= b'cos it was my friends camera.

Onece i went there to repair my Digital Camera and the owner was there he took ma camera and just had a look and said this will cost 8000 to repair i said ok then repair it and give

he gave a receipt and went inside so i asked him when will i should be back he said come day after tomorrow

so i went after 4 days and at that time a girl was in the front desk i handed over the receipt and she foud the job note and said still the camera hasn't ready come after another 2 days i said ok and i went

after 3 days i called them but same is happened after around one month i really got angry and called durst and spoke with the boss i asked what the hell is going on then he said me ok come and collect it its ready and it'll cost 15000/= (My camera cost is only 18.500)

i got shocked and i asked you said itll be around 8000/= then he replyd camera hadanakota ehema thamai and kept the phone

next day i went there and said give ma camera back i dnt want it to repair the girl was there and she said they have to fix ma camera back so come tomorrow i agreed and i came on next day

i gave the receipt to the front desk grl she found the job note and said ahh this camera has been misplaced and still there finding it i said i dnt care what it is i need ma camera

But nw it has been an year still those fuckers finding ma cam

So please don't go to Durst and don't be fooled like us

Indeed its a place that one must avoid like a plague. I had to give a table and cordless phone for repairs. The final cost was over double what they had estimates (reasons told being that the repairs were more extensive than expected), and later on i find out that even the original estimate was too much for the components they had changed!

I also noticed how they hoodwink a lot of consumers on the digital cameras. They have mastered the art where they quote high figures for some camera repairs, and tell the client that they are willing to buy the camera even if its faulty and they can in replacement get a new camera for singapore prices!. The catch is its the retail singapore price that they offer which is lower than the local price, but the value of the broken camera is taken as their "profit". My gut feel is that they have another broken camera of the same variety and want to use the parts of this camera and make bucks both way around.

Overall its a place you have to avoid, as the charges are terrible. There are lot better places to get your electronics fixed than these chaps.

Another incident





I went to repair my digital camera to Durst Electronics at kollupitiya. Before it was given to them, it only had an small issue in the LCD (LCD displays only white background). They took Rs. 1000/= as an advance and said they will return it if the camera cannot be repaired. If it can be repaired, and If I do not want it to be repaired by them, they said they will charge Rs. 500/=


They managed to repair the camera and said they installed a new LCD (I didn’t ask them to repair it. Only ask them to give an estimate) and the cost is Rs. 10,000/= since the cost is too high, I told them I don’t want the new LCD and asked them to remove the newly installed LCD and return the camera. They hesitated and said they will do it for Rs. 5000/= which I didn’t agreed either. Then they reduced the amount to Rs. 4000/= (see how they try to cheat me). Even for that I said no. then they said they’ll charge 1000/= for the inspection (earlier it was Rs. 500/=). They took that amount and they returned the camera. But later I found that the internal parts of the camera were burned by them (CCD was unrecoverable).

Now I have to purchase a new camera. I was not the only victim of them. Later found out from a professional photographer that this place is a very cheap (low quality) place. And another person’s mobile phone was also burned by them.

Now I have to bare my cost. If this information was available to anyone previously, I would have gone to somewhere else and save my camera.

Please forward this email to as many as you can. It may not be important you now. But keep in mind the name of the company (Durst Electronics). It will save somebody from them.

I had given a lens to repair, and they said it will cost at most 2,000 to repair and when I came to collect they asked for 6,000 grand.. this is ridiculous as I got my lens for 10,000... and they didn't need to put any parts to it, was just to clean it and paste to top plastic piece..
