If its a 2.4 prescott, you should keep it under 70C.

My pc's (2.4 Presscot)

Bios : 64'c @ Fan 3600rpm

Win98(idle) : 55'c @ Fan 3700rpm

WinXP(idle) : 52'c - 54'c @ Fan 4200rpm

WinXP(load, not heaviest) : 64'c @ Fan 4800

Anyway Threshold (maximum) is said to be abt 80'c but better keep it under 75'c all times.

BTW did you applied new thermal compound paste/pad ? You better should if you took off the heat sink from the processor.

But if your temps are under these i think its ok.
