Carlos Augusto Alves Santana (born July 20, 1947) is a Grammy Award-winning Mexican Latin rock musician and guitarist. He became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, Santana, which created a highly successful blend of salsa, rock, blues, and jazz fusion. Their sound featured his melodic, blues based guitar lines set against Latin percussion such as timbales and congas. Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades, and experienced a sudden resurgence of popularity and critical acclaim in the late 1990s. Rolling Stone also named Santana number 15 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2003.Carlos Santana was born in Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, Mexico, with two brothers and four sisters and a father who was a mariachi violinist. Carlos began playing the violin at five years of age, occasionally performing with his father’s mariachi orchestra. When his family moved to Tijuana when he was nine, he became interested in the guitar, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and blues music and soon was performing in bands in the Tijuana area. When his family emmigrated to San Francisco, California, thirteen year old Carlos refused to leave, preferring his independence as a working musician. After being convinced to stay in San Francisco with his family, he graduated from Mission High School in 1965.[1] Santana helped the family out by working as a dishwasher and grew to enjoy the San Francisco music scene, often sneaking into legendary music promoter Bill Graham’s Fillmore Auditorium to listen to his favorite musical artists, including Muddy Waters, and The Grateful Dead.

This Japanese version of Nirvana’s 2002 self-titled “best of” compilation contains two songs not included on the American release: the MTV Unplugged versions of “Something in the Way” and “Where Did You Sleep Last Night.” Whether you’re willing to spend an extra $20 to obtain two songs you probably already have, albeit remastered, is up to you. I will say this, though: having “Where Did You Sleep” at the end of this disc makes it seem far more “complete.” It’s funny how much difference one song (or two) can make.

As Greatest Hits–and particularly the busking pavement jazz of “Lovecats”–reminds us, the best Cure singles were very often tangential exercises; they offered a goth-free playtime divergence from some of the weightier studiousness of those early albums. Or, as smudged frontman Robert Smith says of this 18-track collection, “Songs that are sung with a smile.” This wasn’t always true–witness the refrigerated fogginess of the classic “A Forest,” the Blair Witch Project of its day. What this compilation does is focus attention on the Cure’s perennial unpredictability–the breathless claustrophobia of “Close to Me,” the New Order-lite of “The Walk,” the brass- section embellished thrust of “Why Can’t I Be You.” Oddly, chart-wise, the Cure’s lost weekend began immediately after ”Friday I’m in Love,” their most ebullient melodic moment and the ultimate “clocking-off to kick those heels” anthem. But at least the inclusion of two new songs, “Cut Here” and “Just Say Yes” (with Saffron from Republica), indicate that the Cure remain a healthy, ongoing concern

Joe Satriani Engines of Creation

A little cynicism is to be expected when a veteran guitar virtuoso jumps on the electronica bandwagon. But Joe Satriani, who takes that route with Engines of Creation, remains head and shoulders above most guitar gods through sheer good taste. Most of Engines is very good, and Satriani deserves credit at the very least for daring and inventiveness. However, its appeal will likely be largely limited to Satriani fans; it’s difficult to imagine hardcore electronica heads getting down to this sort of thing, although the final two tracks consist of great chill music. Satriani makes effective use of the flexibility inherent in the genre’s repetitiveness: often, he just lets the backing tracks play and solos over them, coming up with some truly otherworldly sonic exploration

While the two previous Best of UB40 collections neatly divided the band’s output between their more political early period and their later, covers-oriented pop success, they were also only ten tracks apiece. The Very Best of UB40 1980-2000 is the first comprehensive single-disc overview of the band’s career, and it’s a lot more generous at 18 tracks (on the American version). It isn’t arranged chronologically, which actually helps the programming by splitting up the covers over the course of the running order. There’s a bit more toughness to the earlier songs, both in the lyrics and the punchier performances. Yet in the end, the sonic differences are subtle enough that casual fans should still be able to enjoy them (unless they only want to hear the band performing reggae-pop versions of oldies they already know).

New Age diva Enya first became widely known when her 1988 album Watermark sold 4 million copies and launched the single “Orinoco Flow.” Her follow-up, Shepherd Moons, was even more successful, selling over 10 million copies despite its slightly lower grade of ethereal enchantment. In 1997 she released Paint the Sky with Stars, an assortment of her best work from these two early albums plus gems from 1995’s The Memory of Trees and the soundtrack to the BBC series The Celts. The most melodic and atmospheric examples of Enya’s lovely Celtic-flavored songwriting shine on this disc. Those unfamiliar with the former Clannad member will find charm in such sweet lullabies as “Marble Halls” and “China Roses” while delighting in the more energetic “Book of Days,” “Storms in Africa,” and “Caribbean Blue.” Overall, an outstanding collection from an artist who gives New Age a good name.

Billy Idol’s secret is one that he shares with, of all people, Trent Reznor–the ability to take a pop base and disguise it with layers of other genres, most notably hard rock. His adaptability is on display throughout this 16-song career retrospective. It’s amazing just how well the former Generation X frontman’s songs have aged. Songs such as the disco-punk hit “Dancing with Myself,” “White Wedding,” and “Cradle of Love” are as appealing as ever, as is even “Shock to the System,” just about the only listenable thing from 1993’s Cyberpunk, an object lesson on the inadvisability of jumping blindly on a bandwagon. Fleshing out this best-of is a newly recorded cover of Simple Minds‘ “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” as well as a live, acoustic version of “Rebel Yell,” and a few other choice rarities.

This compilation repeats seven tracks from 1988’s Money For Nothing anthology. Given that Mark Knopfler and crew have recorded one new album during the decade between best-of collections, how different could Sultans of Swing be? For one thing, CD dominance has made for longer compilations, and this one is fleshed out by singles, three tracks from 1991’s On Every Street, and Knopfler’s solo “Local Hero” theme, performed live. More importantly, the second track here is the band’s terrific second single, “Lady Writer,” previously only available on the otherwise dismal Communiqué LP. Five tracks from Dire Straits’ huge Brothers in Arms LP appear here, but only two tracks surface from Making Movies, the group’s pinnacle achievement. Ultimately, if you own Making Movies and this compilation, you own the essential Dire Straits. –Bill Holdship

Enigma Voyageur

Enigma, aka Michael Crétu, turns out more light electronic ambience on Voyageur, mixing in an occasional twist but sticking pretty close to his successful, easily digested formula. Since Enigma’s massively popular debut MDMXC A.D., Crétu has moved toward a more New Age/adult contemporary sound, culminating with 2000’s bland The Screen Behind The Mirror. As with that record, Voyageur’s weakest moments happen when Crétu puts his mediocre vocals front and center on tracks like “Total Eclipse of the Moon.” Better are more beat-oriented songs like “Boum-Boum” that concentrate on seedier, sexier material and stay away from Crétu’s sappier instincts. While overall, Voyageur counts as an improvement over Mirror, Enigma still hasn’t found a replacement for the Gregorian chants and whispery techno that made MDMXC A.D. such a groovy sensation.

From my guess, Michael Cretu stated that Enigma’s third album is like a combination of the dark and Gothic feel of MCMXC, and of the brighter feel of Enigma 2: The Cross Of Changes. While yes, I can see a point in his description of this album, it has the Gregorian chanting that was present on the first album and the brighter, earthier sounds of The Cross Of Changes, but from my perspective, this third album from Enigma has a more of an aquatic atmosphere and in my opinion, sounds totally different from the previous two albums. I especially love the album cover and it’s transparent album jacket.

Enigma MCMXC A.D.

So much unnecessary fuss was made over Enigma’s juxtaposition of the sexual and sacred. After all, Prince had been doing it for years, and his take on it was far more interesting–and a lot more daring. But Enigma’s MCMXC A.D. did manage to work a lot of people into a lather, both on the dance floor and behind the pulpit. Their inclusion of chanting monks in “Sadeness,” over wooshy ambient noises and a slower hip-hop-appropriated beat was a sensation. “Callas Went Away” promised more than it could deliver, although “Mea Culpa” stands as one of the few shining moments on the CD. The idea of mixing new age aural wallpaper with beats that you can do a slow grind to is actually rather intriguing. Spicing it up with controversial religious chants isn’t a bad idea either. But there’s got to be something personal to it. After the initial novelty wears off, there’s nothing to MCMXC A.D. other than bland, cold, impersonal repetition. Now, that might be what most people are used to, but what’s so sexy about it?

First track “IV Chapter” is actually some kind of remix of Enigma’s “Second Chapter”.
All other tracks have nothing to do with Enigma, although they were produced by other artist.
One of the artists featured on Enigma IV - Metamorphosis is an artist named Anggun.
There are two tracks here by her, “Snow of the Sahara” (originally
“Snow on the Sahara”), and “By the Moon”.
They are off of her self-titled album Anggun.
She is an Indonesian artist who lives and records in Paris, and in my opinion, worth checking out.

Michael Cretu, the man behind Enigma, formulates an intriguing symbiosis between New Age musicality, classical and world-music influences, and dance-club rhythms. Gregorian chants, Native American meditations, and the breathy musings of a French chanteuse have been incorporated into legendary dance-floor hits from his previous three albums. The leitmotif of his fourth album, The Screen Behind the Mirror, is the grandly ominous “O Fortuna” from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. “O Fortuna” opens the set and appears repeatedly throughout the tracks, sometimes lurking in the background, sometimes storming into the forefront. This album marks Enigma’s continued foray into the ambient New Age realm, as Cretu’s efforts focus more and more on melding compatible styles of world music, while the tracks are mixed into a single continuum. There’s a lot to chew on; bits and pieces of church bells, Middle Eastern singing, and native instrumentation from you-name-it fold into each other on a steady current of shuffling hip-hop rhythms and velvety synthesized melodies. Cretu lends vocals to several songs, and his voice stands somewhere between Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins (though it’s not as good as either), tending to distract from the album’s flow and mood, lending it more of a prog-rock feel at times that he probably intended. Albums like this continue to invoke the same question: Is this a beautiful, transcendent union of artificial and indigenous sounds or is it just a bunch of self-indulgent schlock? It can be answered either way with equal conviction

This Japanese version of Nirvana’s 2002 self-titled “best of” compilation contains two songs not included on the American release: the MTV Unplugged versions of “Something in the Way” and “Where Did You Sleep Last Night.” Whether you’re willing to spend an extra $20 to obtain two songs you probably already have, albeit remastered, is up to you. I will say this, though: having “Where Did You Sleep” at the end of this disc makes it seem far more “complete.” It’s funny how much difference one song (or two) can make.

This compilation repeats seven tracks from 1988’s Money For Nothing anthology. Given that Mark Knopfler and crew have recorded one new album during the decade between best-of collections, how different could Sultans of Swing be? For one thing, CD dominance has made for longer compilations, and this one is fleshed out by singles, three tracks from 1991’s On Every Street, and Knopfler’s solo “Local Hero” theme, performed live. More importantly, the second track here is the band’s terrific second single, “Lady Writer,” previously only available on the otherwise dismal Communiqué LP. Five tracks from Dire Straits’ huge Brothers in Arms LP appear here, but only two tracks surface from Making Movies, the group’s pinnacle achievement. Ultimately, if you own Making Movies and this compilation, you own the essential Dire Straits. –Bill Holdship

Eric Lynn Wright (September 7, 1963–March 26, 1995), better known by the stage name Eazy-E, was an American rapper, producer, and record executive from Anoush Street in Compton.

He was a Kelly Park Compton Crip (although he was connected to many other Crip gangs) from the early teenage years until his death. He is widely regarded as one of the founders of the gangsta rap sub-genre and initially rose to fame as a member of the group N.W.A, but later achieved critical and commercial success as a solo artist. Eazy-E's vocal style was marked by his youthful, high-pitched voice and his lyrics focusing on the elements of urban street life such as guns, drugs, relations between residents and the police, and deviant sexual activity.

Eazy-E, nome artístico de Eric Lynn Wright, (Compton, Califórnia, 7 de setembro de 1963 – Compton, 26 de março de 1995) foi um rapper, produtor e executivo fonográfico estado-unidense.

Por morar em um bairro pesado de Los Angeles, Eazy atuava como traficante, o que lhe possibilitou juntar dinheiro para criar a Ruthless Records. Montou o grupo N.W.A juntamente com Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, MC Ren e DJ Yella. O sucesso foi muito grande e, apesar da mídia não apoiá-los, seus fãs eram muitos e suas músicas se tornaram parte da trilha sonora do gueto. Durante o N.W.A, Eazy lançou seu primeiro álbum em 1988, o "Eazy Duz It".

Em 1991 o grupo acabou e Eazy-E seguiu sozinho. Em 1991 lançou o seu 2º albúm 5450 Home 4 tha sick, vendeu bem, mostrando já que Eazy já conseguia fazer as suas próprias músicas. Mais tarde Dr.Dre deixou a Ruthless Recorsds e fundou a sua própria editora "Death Row Records". Ele virou inimigo de Dr. Dre e lançou o álbum "It's On (Dr Dre) 187 One Killa"(que se tornou platina), que continha acusações contra Dre e Snoop Dogg. Uma dessas era na música "Real compton city gs" que continha várias acusações a Dr.dre e o resto da death row. Em 1995 o cantor foi internado infectado com o vírus da AIDS e no dia 26 de março morreu por complicações decorrentes da doença deixando cinco filhos. Existem rumores que Suge knight (fundador da death row) tenha posto uma agulha que continha sangue de uma pessoa infectada com aids e meteu em Eazy.

Depois de sua morte foram lançados outros cds como "Str8 Of Tha Streetz Of Muthaphuckin Compton" e "Eternal E". Seu filho hoje é rapper e usa o nome artístico "Lil Eazy-E", continua morando em Compton como seu pai, já fez músicas com The Game e participou da trilha sonora do jogo True Crime com a música Get It Crackin. Eazy-E era leal, apesar de todo sucesso não saiu de Compton e até hoje é muito reconhecido por sua contribuição ao rap. As suas músicas mais conhecidas são: " Real Muthafuckin' G's ", Boys In Tha Hood ", "Eazy Duz It" e "Eazier said than Dunn" esta que entrou no famoso jogo GTA: San Andreas. Ryder uma personagem do famoso GTA san andreas foi retirado da aparência de Eazy-E. São ambos bastante semelhantes, Produtores do jogo disseram que esta personagem foi retirada de [Eazy-E]. Eazy-E também era conhecido por ser bastante amigável e brincalhão, pois ajudou vários artistas entre eles Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Eazy-E fez parte de um gang chamado Crips

Carlos Augusto Alves Santana (born July 20, 1947) is a Grammy Award-winning Mexican Latin rock musician and guitarist. He became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, Santana, which created a highly successful blend of salsa, rock, blues, and jazz fusion. Their sound featured his melodic, blues based guitar lines set against Latin percussion such as timbales and congas. Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades, and experienced a sudden resurgence of popularity and critical acclaim in the late 1990s. Rolling Stone also named Santana number 15 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2003.Carlos Santana was born in Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, Mexico, with two brothers and four sisters and a father who was a mariachi violinist. Carlos began playing the violin at five years of age, occasionally performing with his father’s mariachi orchestra. When his family moved to Tijuana when he was nine, he became interested in the guitar, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and blues music and soon was performing in bands in the Tijuana area. When his family emmigrated to San Francisco, California, thirteen year old Carlos refused to leave, preferring his independence as a working musician. AC/DC are a hard rock band formed in Sydney, Australia, in 1973 by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. The band are considered pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal alongside bands such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple.Its members, however, have always classified their music as “rock ‘n’ roll”.AC/DC underwent several line-up changes before releasing their first album, High Voltage, in 1975. Membership remained stable until bassist Cliff Williams replaced Mark Evans in 1977. In 1979, the band recorded their highly successful album Highway to Hell. Lead singer and co-songwriter Bon Scott died on February 19, 1980, after a night of heavy alcohol consumption. The group briefly considered disbanding, but soon ex-Geordie singer Brian Johnson was selected as Scott’s replacement. Later that year, the band released their largest selling album, Back in Black.

Track 2&4 - Live At 'Beat Club' - German TV, 1970-05-25

Recorded live in the studio in Germany's now legendary Radio Bremen studios on May 25th, 1970, this session aired on Episode #55 of The Beat Club on May 30th. It is the earliest video that we currently have of the band performing live.This live-in-the studio rendition of Black Sabbath begins with the same rain and church bells intro that opens their debut album. This is a slow, plodding and primal reading of the song, but it's raw and dangerous sounding. The real treat here is getting to see the boys so early on in their careers!Next, they launch into a high-octane version of the Carl Perkins rock and roll staple Blue Suede Shoes with an intensity that is in complete contrast to the song they played before. Ozzy sings in the characteristically nasal tone that he had during this period, while Iommi spews out a spiraling guitar solo over the frantic shuffle beat. This is the only recorded version of Sabbath playing this song. The band didn't intend for this soundcheck recording to air, but the producers thought it was worthy of the program.

Track 1 & 3 - Live At 'Beat Club' - German TV, 1970-09-26

These tracks are taken from the audio portion of their 2nd appearance on German music program 'Beat Club episode #59'. This was shortly after the release of the PARANOID album. Sabbath performed live on this TV soundstage with loaned equipment, leaving many viewers to believe that the band really used Orange amps! The new equipment may be at least some of the reason that the band isn?t sounding as stunning as usual. Tony?s guitar goes slightly out of tune during oIron Mano and he seems to be generally going through the motions to make this one work. Ozzy completely messes up the first two verses and ends up inverting and reusing several earlier lines from the song.

TNT - My Religion (2004)

As was hinted at with the "Give Me a Sign" EP, "My Religion" is a welcome return to the more melodic hard rock songwriting of TNT's past. I for one am thankful that they moved beyond the alternative-rock thing they had done on the past few albums. "My Religion" is chock full of memorable hooks and melodies. That is not to say this CD sounds like dated 80's rock. There is the slightest hint of those modern vibes, but it mixes well with TNT's classic sound. Ronni Le Tokrö once again shines and is able to stretch out and do some guitar shredding, as he does so well. All the new songs off of the "Give Me A Sign" EP are on this full length album as well. This is actually the third release that "Hey Love" and "Satellite" have been released on. Of the new tracks, "She Needs Me" and "You'll Be There" are my favorites. Both of these tracks are emotional and moving, albeit mellower than some of the other songs. Overall, a fine release from TNT and certainly their best in a long time

Carlos Augusto Alves Santana (born July 20, 1947) is a Grammy Award-winning Mexican Latin rock musician and guitarist. He became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, Santana, which created a highly successful blend of salsa, rock, blues, and jazz fusion. Their sound featured his melodic, blues based guitar lines set against Latin percussion such as timbales and congas. Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades, and experienced a sudden resurgence of popularity and critical acclaim in the late 1990s. Rolling Stone also named Santana number 15 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2003.Carlos Santana was born in Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco, Mexico, with two brothers and four sisters and a father who was a mariachi violinist. Carlos began playing the violin at five years of age, occasionally performing with his father’s mariachi orchestra. When his family moved to Tijuana when he was nine, he became interested in the guitar, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and blues music and soon was performing in bands in the Tijuana area. When his family emmigrated to San Francisco, California, thirteen year old Carlos refused to leave, preferring his independence as a working musician. After being convinced to stay in San Francisco with his family, he graduated from Mission High School in 1965.[1] Santana helped the family out by working as a dishwasher and grew to enjoy the San Francisco music scene, often sneaking into legendary music promoter Bill Graham’s Fillmore Auditorium to listen to his favorite musical artists, including Muddy Waters, and The Grateful Dead.

Eric Patrick Clapton, CBE (born 30 March 1945), is an English blues-rock guitarist, singer, songwriter and composer. He is "probably most famous for his mastery of the Stratocaster guitar"[2]. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Yardbirds, of Cream, and as a solo performer. Often viewed by critics and fans alike as one of the greatest guitarists of all time[3], Clapton was ranked fourth in Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time"[4] and #53 on their list of the Immortals: 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.[5]

Although Clapton's musical style has varied throughout his career, it has remained rooted in the blues. Despite this focus he is credited as an innovator in a wide variety of genres, including blues-rock (with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers and The Yardbirds) and psychedelic rock (with Cream). n 2004, the Pink Floyd fan community was treated to a new insight into the band by the release of the book Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd by drummer Nick Mason. This lengthy volume recounts the most memorable events for the band from his perspective. In preparing this 1977 Munich recording for release, we felt it would be helpful to review Nick Mason’s comments on the 1977 era and summarize them here. As you will see below, the stop in Munich had a particular significance for him and was worthy of a specific comment in his book.
Nick begins his chapter on the Animals era by noting that the band decided to buy a building at 35 Britannia Row in Islington for their own studio. It was used well into the Wall era and had a number of advantages for the band. The site was conveniently located; in fact, Roger Waters lived less than a block away. The equipment could be stored there and the band could work in studio at any time. They even had an old friend from the Regent Street Polytechnic named Jon Corpe help with the design of the studio. The composite materials used in the studio construction made it look like “a fucking prison” according to Roger Waters but the sound characteristics were ideal and allowed a very satisfactory recording of the album Animals.
According to Nick, the album Animals was relatively easy to put together. The song Sheep was just a re-working of the 1975 tour song Raving and Drooling while Dogs existed previously as You Gotta Be Crazy. Transitioning these works into the theme of the Animals album left little more to be written. With the acquisition of Britannia Row and the ease with which the Animals album was written and recorded, Nick felt that the band was working better and more cohesively that in the past. Sadly, the tensions would re-emerge as they set out on tour. For the Animals tour, Snowy White was hired as a supportive musician and played many different segments of the music on stage. For example, he was charged with playing the bass introduction to the song Sheep. According to Mason, this often confused audiences as Snowy was the first band member on stage for this opening number and fans did not know who he was.
The Animals tour was described by Nick as the first “branded” tour, specifically designed to promote a specific album and Pink Floyd members underestimated their promoter’s enthusiasm for the “animals” motif. When they arrived in Munich, Germany, the promoter Marcel Avram presented them with a small live piglet. The Floyd tour manager Warwick McCredie was given responsibility for the little animal during their stay. Unfortunately, letting him run around the hotel room all night turned out not to be the wisest decision. The following morning the band was faced with broken glass and pig excrement, everywhere. No doubt, the band was pleased to leave Munich as quickly as possible.
One of the more significant aspects of the 1977 Animals tour was the greater use of stadiums as a venue for the shows. These much larger venues presented certain problems for the band. Pink Floyd did not like to use warm-up acts for its shows. Given that it can take many hours to fill a large stadium like Soldier’s Field in Chicago or Alameda Coliseum in Oakland, fans can get restless and tended to pass the time with drugs and alcohol. By the time Pink Floyd came on stage, many in the audience were well on their way towards oblivion. This scene was played out many times on this tour, culminating in the Roger Waters spitting incident in Montreal during the final performance. By the end of the tour, the stadium scene, the intrusion of business men, financial obligations and general tension lead to a low point in the history of Pink Floyd. David Gilmour even commented to Nick Mason that Pink Floyd “may be done”. For many reasons, this was a good time to take a break. David Gilmour and Richard Wright each went off to produce solo albums while Roger Waters reflected on his own experiences on the Animals tour. Of course, the result of this reflection was, The Wall.
This Munich recording is very special. The equipment used must have been outstanding for the time because the detail and clarity are amazing. With the tour less than one month old, Nick Mason comments that the performances of the time were a bit rough. However, listening to this performance we hope that you agree that all the material is played very well. In our view, this is one of the finest Animals tour recordings available. We hope that, through the remastering process, we have helped to improve it a little for a great listening experience.

Notes from the Re-Master

We started with a SHN CD copy of the master tapes of this recording. The most obvious problem found was a severely damaged right channel. Through an extensive, manual process this right channel was repaired as well as possible. Dropouts also needed extensive repair. Because of the inconsistency of the Right channel, multiple noise reduction techniques were needed to reduce intermittent clicks, pops and hiss. As usual with 1977 PF shows, the harsh Gilmour guitar and other tonality excesses needed to be addressed. Static and Dynamic filtering were used to adjust the tonality and bring it back in line. Each set was speed checked and speed corrected by comparing the show with studio and other live references. Dynamics were also adjusted to enhance the listening experience. Finally, though complete, this show required 5 patches. Four came from source 1 of the 1/27/77 Frankfurt performance and merge well with this show. The fifth, needed for the song Sheep, was from source 2 of the Frankfurt event. Multiple sources were considered as sources for patches including Fort Worth, Oakland, Berlin SB, Paris and Cleveland. None had the quality and clarity of this Munich show except source 1 of Frankfurt. Because Frankfurt source 1 is missing most of Sheep, source two for that date was needed for the Sheep patch. The show was then balanced and re-tracked.
