Lightscribe burners are available...so are discs.
But discs are really expensive. Like few hundreds of rupees. Not economical for us AT ALL!

But there has to be an incentive for the buyer to go for the 2.4GHz one over the 2.5GHz one. Just $10-less doesn't really make it attractive IMHO, when the other one is unlocked! Unlocked = you are definitely NOT FSB or memory limited when overclocking.

I think they are all the same price, or the prices are not much different.
It is that only the lightscribe discs are expensive. It doesn't mean that you can use the normal discs. You can. Just that you are not using a "feature" in the drive. And it doesn't mean that you have to skip "lightscribe" drives. Who knows...the prices of lightscribe discs might come down soon.
TBH, almost all the drives are OK these days. But some drives don't work well with some discs. We can't say what discs don't like what drive or vise versa before buying one, because people here buy cheap discs, and the reviews put up on websites test them against good quality media.

Creative is no good! Nobody buys creative, at cdfreaks.com. That's the definitive place to look for CD/DVD related stuff.

Then how can you tell its not good? I got a used 8x Creative DVD writer(IDE).Couldnt find brand new.....It supported UDMA 4 where the normal writers at that time supported UDMA 2......Not only that i had no problems with that writer!

UDMA-4 is not required for a DVDRW. Well...at least up to 16x read/write speeds.
I had a crappy Gigabyte (rebadged Liteon SOHW-1633S) which was UDMA-4. It is nowhere near as fast or good (read performance, write quality) and my Sony DRU-810A which is UDMA-2.
It is the wrtie quality you have to look at in a DVDRW. Not even the read performance. Read performance comes 2nd.
I can't even find a Creative DVDRW review on the web.
Maybe you can prove me wrong here:

Also to my experience a sony or samsung which you can find in SL lasts only for 1 year.....After a year reading problems and writing problems occur....
Something like Liton or creative...lasts for a long time.....(According to my experience and IMHO)........

Shows how boring Phenoms are. :D
Nothing much to talk about them....hehe
Unless they go for less than $100 :D
Just fyi, my Sony DVDRW is more than 3 years old, and it smokes anything even available now.
