How to configure an internal modem and how to setup a dialup internet connection in Ubuntu ?

does ur modem supports lynx den u can get driver from da main site... otherwise u need to config manually lil bit hard...

whts ur modem model and manufac ...
u can chk frm net ...... most soft(internal) modems doesnt hav lynx support.....

In Windows it's identified as "Intel Ham Data Fax..." and bla bla bla

I have got drivers for modem for Linux. But in compiling it says that the driver is for kernal 2.2 and I am using kernal 2.4. How can I solve this ?

Why not. Try UBUNTU, KUBUNTU, XUBUNTU or even EDUBUNTU.

mach i gt arnd 50 or so ubuntu cd's whn thy released thm through net at first. :lol:
bt lack of SW/HW support made me go back to windows...
i really liked programmin in C/C++ and GTK in lynx...
