This is a visual basic script file that will pop up an msg which requires

1)Open Notepad

2) Copy the below text and paste on notepad...

Update Kaspersky Offline !:yes:

Step 1 : Visit this Website
http://support.kaspersky.com/updater?level=2
and download latest KLUpdater.zip from there as it contains the GUI interface also.

Step2 : Once you downloaded KLUpdater.zip , Just extract the files in a Folder.

Step 3 : Now you will get extracted files, Now run the KasperskyUpdater.exe.

Step 5 : Now the Kaspersky Window will be appeared . Select the specific product for which you want to download the updates.

Step 6: Check the boxes which I marked in the figure and select appropriate product. Once done . click on Apply and then press Start to start the downloading process.

Step 7 : Downloading files will be start and a Command prompt will pop up and will show the status. All the required update files will be now downloaded to the folder “Updates“

Thats it. Once done, now you have the off-line
update for that product of kaspersky which you have selected.

How to use this downloaded files to update your Kaspersky product ??

* Right click on system tray icon of the Kaspersky Antivirus.
* Select the Update menu and click Settings .
* Click the Add menu, and find the location of the folder containing the update file above (download the Updates folder above)
* After added, remove the check for “Kaspersky Lab’s update server” and click OK.
* DONE.

Important: it's impossible to update manually when the keys are blacklisted.:nerd:

her is what to do.......its very easy

Open Notepad and put this in

x = msgbox("box message",0+48 ,"box title")

Simply replace the "Box message" with the message of your choise ,do the same with "box title"

Now for the button selection......

x = msgbox("box message",0+48 ,"box title")

The 0 is where you want to select the buttons you have

0 =OK Button

1 = OK and Cancel

2 = Abort Retry and ignore

3 = Yes No and Cancel

4 = Yes and No

5 = Retry and Cancel

and now for the logo.......

x = msgbox("box message",0+48 ,"box title")

The 48 is what you are going to be changing........

16 = Critical Message

32 = Warning Query

48 = Warning Message

64 = Information Message

Now just save that as ******.vbs(replace *** with whatever you want)

Now, if you want to trick someone into thinking it is there Internet Icon for exaple...........

Move the file to any place that it will not be seen

Right click on the file you have made and select "Creat Shortcut"

bow plce this for example on the desktop

Now right click on the shortcut.....

Select Properties and click on the "Shortcut" tab

NTFS or Fat32: Which should I choose?

A common questions when installing Windows XP on your computer is whether or not you should format your hard drives as NTFS or Fat32.

The specifications for both systems are as follows:

Fat32

Use it if your hard drive is 32GB or less.
Is slightly faster than NTFS, but not by much.
Can be used by other Operating Systems. If you plan on having multiple operating systems on your machine, you want FAT32.

NTFS

Should be used if your hard drive is greater than 32GB
Has better compression allowing you to store more data.
Has file security.

In generaly, with drive sizes being by default greater than 32GB, you should use NTFS. NTFS also gives you greater security on your hard drive to eliminate possible unauthorized access of your data.

On the other hand, if you are using Windows 95,98, or ME, NTFS is not an option so you must use FAT32. You will also want to use FAT32 when you have multiple operating systems on one computer.

How to join .001 movie files ??

For the sake of explanation lets say that you have downloaded "Nostradamus 2012 HDTV " from the board and you don't know how to join .001 files.

1. Go to http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/ and select the version of HJSPLIT compatible with your operating system.

2. After dowloading HJsplit run it and click on join as shown below.

3. Click input and go to the folder where the parts has been stored (here the folder name is "Nostradamus 2012") .

4. Don't worry ! it automatically shows only .001 file .Note that all parts should be stored in the same folder.After clicking on the .001 files click "open" .

5. Then click "Start".

Editing Desktop.ini I - Making Folder Background Picture in WinXP

Follow the instruction :
1. Change your "folder setting" to "show all hidden files and folders".

2. Go to inside the folder that u want to change the folder background image. Right-click, "customize this folder", "change icon", select any of these icon, OK, OK.
(This part is just to make windows make "desktop.ini" files. For some unknown reason, the system wouldn't apply our customization of "desktop.ini" if we made the files manually.)

3. Now, the "desktop.ini" files should appear, edit it with notepad.

4. Now add the following codes before/after the text inside "desktop.ini".
[{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}]iconarea_image=C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper\crystal.jp g5. SAVE

6. Refresh(F5). If nothing change, try to Reopen the folder.

FYI: The codes that I give should show you "crystal.jpg"(default winxp desktop background pics.
Now, to make more reflect to what you want. I mean the picture that you like.
You can edit the path at the last line into your path of your picture. Paste the path, right after "iconarea_image=".

FYI again: if it's removeable media, u can make the path relative not absolute, so it's more flexible.
If the pic are in the same folder with "desktop.ini", the path can be "\(pic filename)" without quote.

Final one, to restore the folder icon into the default icon, delete the following codes inside the "desktop.ini"

The backup utilities in previous versions of Windows have been less than spectacular resulting in a nice market for third party applications. Today we take a look at the Backup and Restore feature in Windows 7 that may be their best backup tool yet.
Set the Backup
To set up a backup in Windows 7 open up Computer right-click on your local drive and select Properties. Then click on the Tools tab and click the Back up now button.

Click the View Details button to see exactly what is being backup during the process.

When the backup is complete you will see the two backup files and image folder if you created one. I backed up 20GB of data and it took around 15 minutes including the system image which came to 11GB.

Double click on the backup file and can restore files or manage the size of the backups folder.

Restore Files from Backup
If you need to go back and restore a file from a backup click on Restore my files in the Backup and Restore Center.

Now you can browse or search the most recent backup for a file or folder your missing.

Next you can restore them back to the original location or choose a different spot then click Restore.

Progress of the restoration will vary depending on the size of the data and location it’s restoring from.

Manage Backup Size
Sometimes you may need to recover some disk space and Windows 7 allows you to manage the size of your backups. In the Backup and Restore section click on the Manage Space link.

Your given a summary of the backup location and what is taking up space from the backup.

Click on the View backups button to check the different dated backups where you can delete older ones if needed.

Backing up data is one of the most important but overlooked tasks for a computer user. If you have another backup app you might not consider letting Windows do it, but overall, the new backup and restore utility in Windows 7 is much better than previous versions.

Hide Any Drive In 3 Steps

Most of you must have wondered if there exists a way without using software to Hide A Drive completely so that it cannot be viewed or accessed without unlocking it. Well for those who have and who haven't yet, here is a easiest method on How To Hide Any Drive In Just 3 Steps.

Here we go, follow these 3 simple steps:

01. Go To Start --> Run or use Win+R keys and type "cmd" and press Ok.

02. This will open Command Prompt for you. Now type "diskpart" and press Enter:

Once in Diskpart type "list volume" and press Enter:

This will list all the partitions in ur system.

Enter The Following Command

"select volume 10".
Remember to change 10 with the volume number of your partition you want to hide and press Enter:

03. Now as in my example I am hiding drive G: so my last command is "remove letter G" and then press Enter:

All done. Now open your computer and see that drive is made hidden

Now to make a drive Unhidden

Follow first 2 steps as such but in step 3 instead of remove letter G use "assign letter G"

For Vista/Windows 7

The commands becomes slightly different here:"assign letter=G"

You have successfully unlocked the Hidden Drive. :yes:

Branding Windows with your Name !!

Open Notepad dump the following lines into it and Save It with the name OEMINFO.INI in the c:\windows\system32 directory:

- [General]
- Manufacturer=Your Name Here
- Model=Your Model Here
- [Support Information]
- Line1=Your Name Here
- Line2=Your Address Here
- Line3=Your Email Address Here

- Save the file, then make a right click on my computer select properties, in the general tab a button will be highlighted (support information) make a click on it, you will be able to see the changes.
- Now if you want to display some more information then simply increase the line in the file.

- ex: Line4=Your Working Hours Here;)

Hardware problems and their beeps

1. MONITOR LED IS BLINKING
Check all the connections like Monitor Cable, Data cables,RAM, Display Card , CPU
connections.

2. CONTINUOS THREE BEEPS
Problem in RAM Connection.

3. THREE BEEPS ( 1 Long 2 Short)
Problem in Display Card Connection

4. THREE LONG BEEPS PERIOD WISE
Problem in BIOS or RAM (Basic Input Output System)

5. CONTINUOS NON-STOP BEEPING
Key Board Problem (I.e.; Some Key is pressed for Longer time)

6. FDD LED IS GLOWING CONTINUOSLY
Data cable to be connected properly (twisted cable).

7. NO DISPLAY ON THE SCREEN AT ALL
Hard Disk cable connected wrongly. Connect rightly seeing the Red mark (Faces power
supply) and then Restart.

8. POWER LED IS OFF
a. Check main power cord
b. Check S.M.P.S.
c. Check Mother Board connection

9. SHOWING CMOS ERROR
Replace 3 Volt battery of Mother Board . Set Original Settings Manually.(Refer CMOS Setup
chart)

10. SHOWING FDD ERROR OR FLOPPY DRIVE IS NOT WORKING
PROPERLY
Check Power cord of FDD , Data Cables , set CMOS & Finally the Check drive.

b. Check connection of HDD
c. Check Data cable
d. Check Hard Disk parameters in CMOS or Auto detecting Setting Partitions by Fdisk
Command, then format it to set track 0.

12. MOTHER BOARD HANGS DUE TO UNSTABILIZED POWER SUPPLY
a. Check S.M.P.S
b. RAM not functioning properly.
c. Software problem (due to using pirated software)
d. CPU fan not functioning properly.

13. DANCING SCREEN
a. Check Display card connection
b. Virus Problem
c. Video Memory Problem

14. SHAKING SCREEN
a. Earthing problem
b. Magnetic waves comes around.

15. CPU CABINET SHOCK
a. Check Earthing
b. Check main power cord.

16. NON-SYSTEM DISK ERROR
a. Floppy Drive having different disk (Non-Bootable Disk) OR CMOS Parameters for Hard Disk
may not be set properly.
b. Hard Disk Partitions may not be created.
c. Hard Disk may not be formatted.

17. MISSING OPERATING SYSTEM
The System files missing namely Ie; command.com} - User File IO.SYS & MS_DOS.SYS } -
Hidden Files. These above three files required for Start up of the system that can be
transferred by using SYS C: Command OR While the time of formatting by using Format
c:/u/s

18. MISSING COMMAND INTERPRETOR
May the file Command.com is corrupted OR Infected by Virus OR Some one has Erased it.

19. SHOWING I/O ERROR
a. The type of Hard Disk in CMOS may not be set properly.
b. Operating system used for formatting is not valid

20. SHOWING DIVIDE OVER- FLOW MESSAGE
a. May some Directories or Files crash with other files.
b. Use CHKDSK/F or SCANDISK Command to correct it.

21. HARD DISK MAKING NOISE WHILE PROCESSING
a. Unstabilized power supply.
b. Check for Loose Contact.
c. Do not use Y Connectors for Hard Disk.
d. It may create Bad Sector OR Weak Hard Disk.

22. HARD DISK HANGS WHILE PROCESSING
Check for Bad Sector by using CHKDSK or SCANDISK Command. If found format the Hard
Disk and set Partition before that area.(This is the only procedure to use Hard Disk with Bad
Sector) OR (To avoid Bad Sectors use Standard Power Supply)

23. HARD DISK NOT DETECTED
a. Check Power Connector
b. Check Data Cables
c. Check Jumpers

24. PARTITION NOT SHOWN
Operating System where the Hard Disk formatted is not supported with present Mother Board.
For Eg: Hard Disk formatted with Pentium System will hide their partitions for 486 System.

25. MMX/DLL FILE MISSING
May the above files may be corrupted due to power failure or Virus. Make available above files
from other Computer. OR Reinstall Windows 98 Operating System. (This procedure will not
make any effect on existing Data).

26. WINDOWS REGISTRY ERROR
This will happen due to sudden ON/OFF of the system. Final solution is to Reinstall Operating
System.

27. DISPLAY COLOUR DOES NOT MATCH
a. Configure Display Card properly with their CD.
b. The Standard setting for Windows is set it to 800x600 for better performance.

28. UNKNOWN DEVICE FOUND
May the Driver utility is not provided with operating system . Insert Driver CD and install
software for the above Device. (Every Device requires driver utility to set active)

When you download photos from your digital camera, they often have unrecognizable names. You can rename several similar files at once with the following procedure. This also works for renaming other types of files.
