I have ASUS PPB-E MoBo. I always use ai-suite utility to over clock and save power.
I upgraded my processor to core2 2.66 6mb cache and upgrade Mother board bios to install the processor. Now I'm using Vista service pack 1. When I installed ai suite, I can't see the processor speed. Some time program is not respond. What's da problem?
Processor, vista sp1 or bios upgrade. Also I need to know what is the asus ACPI center (running in background).

probably it might caused bcoz of the SP1 upgrade, check the Asus site for updates of your program.

Run your system all in default BIOS setup and see whether it works or not!!
Even in my system AI Suite doesn't work (I'm using VISTA SP 1 also)... But it does work if I switch to default BIOS settings!!

You mean go back to the mobo default bios. Will my processor work with default bios? I upgrade my mobo bios due to unsupport for core2 duo.:oo:

Ha? your ASUS P5B-E doesn't work with Core 2 Duo's? Dude it supports even Core 2 Quads!!! Have you overclocked your system? if you have load default BIOS and see!! Not the BIOS version.. the settings!!

Thank you, when I bought core 2 duo E8200(1333fsb). I had to flash my bios to 1802 to support the processor. Also I need to know what is ASUS ACPI CENTER. Running in background.
I haven't over clock bios

Then most probably your new BIOS version doesn't support AI SUITE!!!

If its caused by the newly updated BIOS then you can't do anything... Maybe you can write to ASUS and see.. visit your Mobo specification page by ASUS and recheck to be sure..
why do you need AI SUITE anyway?

That AI thing is bit of graphix, ain't it?Try doing them with windows utilities.BTW not always the latest BIOS is good. For example in Striker Extreme the latest will be 1505 but many stick with 1303.Why? It has a good stability than others.

Why would you want to use AISuite anyway? :/
If you want to save power, undervolt your CPU. That's the best way.

OS has got sleep feature but I'm not sure I'll work.. you can try changing settings in your BIOS Power management section.. mine doesn't resume from sleep.. well.. it does resume but nothing on the screen.. my monitor remains switched off..
You can try it..

You can't resume because of your overclock.
Same happens to mine if I run at fsb 400. Northbridge is stressed to the maximum at 400MHz. But 401MHz is in the next fsb strap, which relieves the NB a great deal and then standby works :D

That's Asus's fault, not BIOS's fault. Their Windows BIOS update software sucks :P

I can't figure it out how it keeps downloading while its sleeping.is this the same sleep in OS, i mean all the things go to sleep like standard OS sleep :/
or the mobo has the ability to keep certain hardwares alive?
I'm referring to AI nap :D

This is different than normal sleep function. In normal sleep function all the tasks stop. But in AI-nap tasks are running (but not tasks with high priority). As I think it decrease the voltage and off the monitor.

You think? :D
If you want truly a low power system, lower the Vcore as far as you can while maintaining 12hour prime stability. that is what i have done.
i've dropped from 1.325V nominal voltage to 1.2375V (actually 1.184V in CPU-Z). If you say 1.2375V, it lowers the power consumption of the CPU by 13%, and if you take the real voltage (1.184V), then the power consumption is 20% less than nominal. however, since i have overclocked by 50%, the power consumption is still higher than at stock clocks + stock voltage.

Yeah! because when I run everything @ default settings no porbs!
