POsting moderation

OK firstly this is a idea against the soverignity of the members or whatsoever :) however I think something like this is needed at some point.

AT http://www.elakiri.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9123 there is a new post about porn sites. The number of posts by this member : 1.

As you know, advertising in forums and communities are becoming a plague although not at the same rate of spamming. However I think these type of things better be stopped rather than let live. What I suggest is this; let the first posting of each member be moderated. Members can directly post only after the first post is published. I know its quite bad if you think of it like that and its going to be quite a lot of work for the admin, but I guess we can have about five ppl to work on this.

Finally, its just my idea, and I might be ranting over some small incident; which is a high possibility :) .And I do not know the technical limitations of the BBoard as to whether we can really do this. (May be we can sort of have a new-user group where every post has to be moderated and later move the member from new-user to general-user). Anyway what do others think of this?

Yeah like I thin the biggest problemis that its gonna be a bloody nuisance. Today early morning (around 2am - SLT) was another post which I couldnt track. Anyway just wondering are admins in this forum? ;)

AFAIK, the admins are aware of this. And they said that they can easily employ those image verification stuff you get when registering on other forums. But, at the same time, they are a bit concerned that people will not understand this and will fail to register here. But I don't think this is accurate. A plain English phrase explaining what this is and how to proceed, will make them understand.

And there have been quite a number of such incidents recently. Not one or two. And at an increasing pace. Admins (GTRZ, Lich etc.) will have to do something sooner rather than later.

yeah its so bad whats happeneing but ppl y cant y just ignore it as loads of othres do?????its simple as dat...dats my opinion!!!!!
if its a crap heading with da 1st post labeled so just ignore it........i dun thnk u ppl wanna visit dose sites dey post:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I dont think image verifcation would be a problem. I mean most people have an email ID thats free and well in almost all the free email systems this is needed. Plus if you take rapidshare or megauplaod or sites like that the same method is employed. I think because ppl who start posting here are ppl who have some sort of an exposure, this shouldnt be a problem.

(oh and by the way when I said "are admins checking this forum?" it was pun intended :) I know they are around all the time :) )

Well in my personal opinion, its a damn good thing if you can ignore things that you cannot change. But why do so when you can? :) (and secondly why the hell is it showing that its my Bday today as well ??? :confused: not that im complaining about the wishes :D;))
