Hie Guys,

I thought this might be usefull for guys living abroad to call sri lanka free / cheap (if the local calls are not free at your area)

Ok this is the procedure

1.You need a SIP Adapter such as PAP 2 or a SIP softphone like Xten installed in Sri lanka
a.Register with callcentric.com get a free account (IP Freedom) you will get a number like 178XXXXXX
b.Configure the account to Xten / SIP Adapter (instructions are there in the callcentric site)
...>so now in Sri lanka you have a SIP number 178XXXX online,

There are 2 ways you can call sri lanka now
1.get another free sip number and call from there , if you have a SIP Adapter you will get the true phone to phone experiance
2.
a) Select a Free / Cheap local number from this website http://www.sipbroker.com/sipbroker/action/pstnNumbers
b) Dial the selected number from your conventional phone
it will say "Welcome to SIP Broker PSTN gateway please dial the number you wish to connect to..
c)dial *462 178XXXXXX (where *462 is the code number for callcentric and the other is your free number you just got from call centric

The soft phone (xten) or the phone connected to the sip adapter will ring in srilanka,

The call quality is better than using calling cards

About to know about pap2 please follow this link http://www.voiplink.com/Linksys_PAP2_NA_p/linksys-pap2-na.htm

NOW ITS TIME TO CALL FREE,

PS. its not mandatory to use callcentric you may use any SIP phone provider like vonage etc.
