Nero 7.5.9.0 is supposed to be compatible with Vista, but it still has a video codec issue.

Try to find Nero Lite. This works like a breeze, without any errors.

It wasn't the nero codecs that was causing the issues. It was its mp4 codec.

I don't want to recommend anything. But I'm not gonna use the full version until I'm certain that it's 100% compatible with Vista.

Nero is working ok itself. But when you try to play DivX/XviD movies an error comes up; the problem is something like COM Surrogate....... I can't remember it.

It isn't there with Nero Lite and this is version 7.5.1.1

It's not related to encoding. It's when you try to watch DivX files.

Nero Lite 7.5.1.1 works without any problems. I don't have a link though. You have to use the same serial number you would use on Nero Premium, to install Nero Lite.
