Hey guys,

I got an email recently which I only opend now with a link to a certain website thats supposd to be run by Ministry of Defence, Public Security, Law & Order, Sri Lanka.

Site is http://www.citizens.lk

The problem is that theres no logo, no links, no contact nos nothin on the site where it asks ppl to Register... weird an intrstin..

check it out ko.. tell me wat ur ideas are here.. i definitely dnt hope its a fake.. but i didnt enter any TRUE info anyhows.. so i advise u to do the same..

it is for the national security...!!!! so don't hesitate to do so...!!!

And it is hard to create a fake country level domain.

Creating a .LK is not the same as creating a .COM domain. Most of the time, I would say more than 90%, country level domains are legitimate. Because they are administered by a authority within the country and it has a particular process to follow.

bro ape rate wena dewal heityata u cant blame anyone who wil seem suspicious of a site that has NO logo, NO external links or references, NO contact details residing within the website/page.... comparing the site to ANY othr .gov site or gov authority site its different an suspicious... hahaha... but like u said in the othr thread man.. if its beta, why doesnt it say so.. thank god u knw how to query WHOIS... nethi aya oka dekkoth mokada hithenne??

If that is not a beta, then they've got a huge problem. Coz there are errors in the site and as you said it doesn't look legitimate without proper contact details and logos.

(But again, if somebody needs to create a fake site, he/ she can simply put the contact details and logos too.)

Isnt it a security risk .. i mean if someone hacks the site they can get all our details .because all our details are there our ID # ,address ,Drivers License ,Mobile numbers..Huge security risk .. i know its very unlikely dat it might happen but there is always a risk rite..if terrorists get there hand s on this data .. scarey stuff..

But don't you know... All the ID data are stored in a database. All license data are stored in a database, all passport data are stored in a database.

So if someone hacked into those systems?
