Asoka Handagama, no doubt is one of the best artists
ever born in Sri Lanka. With his sheer talents he has
been able to win an international glory and bring fame
to his motherland. With Prasanna Withanage and
Vimukthu Jayasundera Asoka Handagama is one of the
very few international level film directors we have
ever had in Sri Lanka.
Now one stupid Minister in the government led by a Gon
Thadiya trying to ban his latest creation saying that
film is against the Gon-Thadi Chinthanaya. I think
this is the very reason why the film should be shown
to all Sri Lankans. Gon Thadiyas with no Chinthanaya
at all cannot ban international level creations for
political reasons.
We are not surprised that the Hambantota village idiot
or his equally stupid Cultural minister getting
excited over seeing the nudity. These idiots have
never seen nudity and never learnt to experience it in
a civilised manner. So for the Hambanthota Gon Thadiya
and his stupid cultural minister seeing even the
women’s' breasts is vulgar. We should take such people
to Sigiriya and show them how our ancient people
treated nudity as a part of own culture.
This is not just a struggle to protect Handagama, but
it is a struggle to protect our own freedom of
expression.
Let us all gather together to protect the freedom of
expression.
