Of course there are tests....

Ther's a non invasive prenatal test (NIPT) which uses a simple blood test that analyses DNA from the baby that has passed into the motherís bloodstream. This can be done after 10 weeks and is 99% accurate for Down syndrome.

If someone is worried because there's a family history of genetic issues, then you can go for a diagnostic test.
Two tests can confirm the condition.
Chorionic villus sampling (CVS) - done done between 11 and 14 weeks of pregnancy
Amniocentesis- done between 15 and 18 weeks of pregnancy

There are other tests which can be done after 18 weeks of pregnancy as well.
