නවම් මහා පෙරහැර කිවුවොතින් ඉතිං අපිට මතක් වෙන්නේ කොළඹ ගංගාරාමේ පෙරහැර තමා..ඉතිං මේ අවුරුදෙත් ඉතාමත් උත්කර්ෂවත් අන්දමට පසුගිය පෙබරවාරි 6,7 දෙදින තුල පැවැත්වුනේ විශාල ජන ගංගාවක් මධ්‍යයේයි...ඉතිං දැක්ක සිවිශේෂී දෙයක් තමා මිනිසුන් කිසිම බයක් සැකක නැතුව පවුල් පිටින් මේ සුවිශේෂී උත්සවය බලන්න ඇවිත් තිබුනා..තායිලන්ත සහභාගීත්වයක් සමග පැවති මේ උත්සවයට අලි ඇතුන් මං හිතන්නේ මට මතක විදිහට 30කට අධික සංඛාවක් සමග විවිධ සංස්කෘතික අංග සමග හැඩගැන්විලා තිබුනා..

ඉතිං 7 වෙනිදා මාත් ඔන්න ගියා පෙරහැර බලන්න..ජීවිතේ පළවෙනි පාරට හොදට ඉදගෙන නිදහසේ ලස්සනට පෙරහැරක් බලන්න මට පුලුවන් උනා..ඒ අස්සේ නිකමට උස්සන් ගිය කැමරාවෙන් ෆොටෝ ටිකකුත් ගත්තා..ඉතිං මේ ෆොටෝ වල කොලිටි එක ගැන නම් හිතන්න එපා..ට්‍රයි පොඩ් එකක්වත් ,ෆ්ලෑශ් එකක් වත් නැතුව තමා මේවා ටික ගත්තේ..ඉතිං එහෙනම් අපිත් බලමු පෙරහැර




Each year in the month of February, the city of Colombo is home to a singular phenomenon. The time preceding Nawam Poya Day summons artisans from every region of the Island bearing their regalia and instruments to bring to life, over a period of two days, an unprecedented unison of cultural diversity. This is the Nawam Maha Perahera, the Annual Pageant of the Gangaramaya Temple. It is one that transcends race, religion and origin to awaken the pulse of a multicultural commercial capital and foster time and again an appreciation for a rich and diverse island heritage.
