විදේශයන්හි පාවිච්චි කරන ලද වාහන ආනයනය කිරීම සඳහා පනවා තිබූ වසරක කාලය ලිහිල් කිරීමට රජය තීරණය කර තිබේ. ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්‍ෂ මහතා සහ වාහන ආනයනකරුවන් අතර පැවති සාකච්චාවකදී මෙම තීරණය ගෙන තිබේ.
ඒ අනුව වෙළඳ වාහන සඳහා වසර තුන හමාරක කාලයක් සහ අනෙකුත් වාහන සඳහා වසර දෙකක කාලයක් විදේශයන්ගේ පාවිච්චි කරන ලද වාහන ගෙන්වීම සඳහා වාහන ආනයනකරුවන්ට අවසර ලැබේ.
මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දක්වන ක්‍ෂෙත‍්‍රයේ ව්‍යාපාරිකයන් පවසන්නේ මෙම නව තීරණය හේතුවෙන් මෙරට වාහන වෙළඳපලේ ඉන්දියානු කොටස විශාල පසුබෑමකට ලක්වනු ඇති බවත් ජපාන වාහන විසින් එම කොටස අත්පත් කරගනු ඇති බවත්ය.
