My father is suffering from knee pain (osteoarthritis) :( he is in tremendous pain most of the time. We've consulted Dr Ananda Perera, as people say he is the best orthopedic surgeon in Sri Lanka and he treated my father over and year now $$$ :dull: condition still the same his medications doesn't seems to be working so we decided to try ayurweda treatments. Still no improvement on his condition. Has any of you know a good doctor to treat my father??? please share your comments....
    thank you

Joint replacement is the last and curative step of osteoarthritis. Before that some behavioural changes like doing exercises to improve muscle strength and joint stability, weight loss and some medications like NSAIDs, injections to joint cavity may help. This is what doctor said to me. Anyway it is a good decision not to take ayurvedic medication as your father is having diabetes.( but exernal applications like oil can be accepted.) how is your father now? I wish him good health.

no definitive cure for osteoarthritis,,,,except surgery (joint replacement) ,,,you first meet a rhuematologist ( dr Lalith wijerathne is good ) he will prescribe some medication with rehabilitation,,,, if no improvement better to meet a orthopaedic surgeon,,,,(dr Banagala ,dr pinto, dr wasantha perera, dr anada perera or dr punchihewa ) these all consultants are available within Colombo region,,,,
