No point doing software engineering if u are not going to be a software engineer. to b a software engineer u need to do additional courses like Microsoft certification, java certification or oracle certifications based on the jobtype u seek.
Namat witharak software engineering degree karan onne kiyala kiyan epa. Ek Godak WRONG. Software Engineering post ekak set karagan hari amarui lankawe if u are not a complete Brainiac or Einstein.
FIRST Software Engineering mokad kiyala study karan. What is software Engineering kiyala understand karan. Monand topics cover wenne? google search karan syllabus of software engineering of uk universities or any other university.
Best u do a managerial course machan, there are plenty of Brainiacs coming from Moratuwa, Colombo, Kelaniya, Japura SLITT Informatics. What the industry needs now are managers who manage these brilliant people.
Nikan Business IT Degree karala ita passe, NIBM would be better for u.
I also did OLs without doing AL (London), I went to IDM got BSc with 2.2 class degree and worked as Tutor because i could nt find a job as software engineering. I just had knowledge of VB then. Unfortunately i had to do a job i did not like that was lecturing.
Some courses they say they teach programming languages, but they dont do advance or expert level programming. just basic programming design and they will teach how to avoid or find solutions to few programming errors or design errors.
If u want to find more and learn about programming errors in practical scenarios then u have to do certification courses meka hari headache ethakota. But if u are 100% confident and u can pass with ure eyes closed, go ahead with software engineering
MY BEST ADVISE dont do software engineering courses do a Management course.
a Friend of mine(he has done ALs) after 10 years finishing his degree in 2004 and did his MBA recently he is now a CEO of England based software company in Sri Lanka. he has just 4 yrs of programming experience compared to my almost 2 years of programming skills and experience level.
Dont fall in to the same hole that I fell into. U'll be like me unhappy doing a job u dont like!!!
Better u pack ure bags and goto a UK uni do the degree, u can do part-time jobs while ure doing ure degree in IT. Check ACBT and APITT as well if budget suits u.
But speak to former students of institutes there are so many options decisions and different stories of success and failures.
GOOD LUCK!!!
