Because its just not a pack of words, its being automatically published when someone puts it on EK. Sure they can have their thoughts and we have our thoughts but freedom has its limits, one can not exploit the media freedom for his/her or another group of people by publishing FALSE and INCORRECT data in the writing, sure this is art but in this case art should be right.
There are arts that are not right(for a public forum, its ok personally
) too like explicit lyrics, po*n(if you call them art ) and stuff like that but those are not yet published on PUBLIC FORUMS thats the case here even small children come here, and even foreigners.
Mr. Atula can have his "thoughts" but should not exploit the current situation ...thats where moderation needs to come in, as the public wants to get the right idea, those who have the right to protect the truth will always take down the "MYTHS" that these kinda people cultivate.
And yet he didnt stop doing that in his poem either, thats what I attacked - not his reputation/his past. Its just that the reply such a poem deserves, who the hell living in this isle will say that a soldier is the පව්කාරයා? have you even seen someone from UNP telling that? never but atula does the attack is for that. Not for the rest of the poem nor to the artist in person just to his invalid/wrong thoughts
The last MYTH that this person was spreading was that he had "understood" a part of Buddhism (anathma) and he said he bases his opinions and his ideas on what he has "understood" from Buddhism. I posted the above reply after I've asked a question from him about what he "understood", he answered incorrectly so I replied to him with the right answer(thats what you quoted). This is one such example where people speak about things that they dont even know about clearly. If a non-buddhist read that he'd clearly take what this person is saying as true !! thats what I'm against, not the person.

if as he understood killing even for his country is a sin, it naturally might become his perspective of it. it doesn't mean that it's a fact. it's still his opinion.
and then he formed a poem out of those thoughts, sure it conveys his belief regarding this certain matter which unfortunately is offensive enough to brand one ltte or not... what readers should do is reading such poems with an open mind and take what they could and will out of it.
i believe i don't need to say what sort of msgs todays art deliver to society, relatively to which this poem seems very less harmful. and i didn't exactly bother to read the prefered thread in your early post so may be I'm here missing something but still need i say that even facts in buddhism tend to change monk to monk.
and if his thoughts of this matter don't get along with your you certainly didn't have to use such offensive language. look you and I, right now carrying our arguement/coversation in a very civilized way ..why couldn't you give him the same respect you gave me. cos he looked ltte?
