Not a lot of people have seen Asoka Handagama's movie Aksharaya (A Letter of Fire) and if the Minister of Culture has his way then not many more people are going to see the movie.

If you Google Aksharaya you can fine out enough about the debate surrounding the movie. Personally I think the movie should be screened and the Minister for Culture should go screw himself. We have enough people trying to do moral policing in this country, the last thing we need is for some illiterate Minister who's incapable of stringing two words together trying to decide what we should abnd shouldn't see.

I watched this film.. this reveals sexual identity formation of a family. This is specific one. but we can't generalize it or apply for every family. It has targeted foreign viewers who have clear idea about those theoretical and practical aspects. This is not relevant for Sri Lankans. But it is a gud movie. I think it need not that nude seen to include here. coz her mentality has already revealed.

Watch it but don't understand it easy. It has something but not everything...

I can agree with u bcoz our sinhala Karaoke productions are more sexual representations. but no one have force to stop them.

Aksharaya is a gud one. Thing is it is not represent Social Classes accurately. our culture reality is very dangerous and hiddened. Thats why woman are killed by sexually raped... you know more examples. Then this movie is a simple one based on sigmond fruede. our culture is more complex. Handdagama can't touch them. he learned maths not sociology...
