தமிழர்கள் இங்கே உண்டா? Any tamils?

Hi!
I'm from Kelaniya University. Any one speaks tamil around here????
தமிழர்கள் யாராவது இங்கே உள்ளீர்களா? சந்திக்க ஆர்வமாக உள்ளேன்.

no we didnt say dat. its just dat we asked to use sinhala font and we were sed if v used a sinhala font this will become a non english site. (i think)

It's not magic. :lol:

Sice I'm a IT student I suppose to use Tamil as English in internet.

You can see tamil wikipedia , MSN tamil and other leading sites designed using Unicode. There are plentty of only tamil forums like elakiri.

If you use Unicode font then it'll appear in the site as it is.
Fortunately Windows XP have one built-in Tamil font with it (Latha) . So if you want to read a unicode based tamil web no need to install fonts.
Unfortunately Win xp doen't have sinhala font. So you guys have to manually install a sinhala font. YOu can get sinhala font from

It's looks exactly the same as elakiri.com. But they have rules like you have to post in tamil only.

Since They have a big market (nearly 5 times larger than lankan Users) they are using it succesfully. I just made to learn to type in tamil because of those tamil forums. :yes:
