Hi, What are you think about it ...
What is the best download manager for torrent files ?
utorrent is the best IMO: low memory footprint, simple but powerful GUI, compliant with all the private tracker rules as of yet and fast too.

And just see how nice and efficient programming that is. You get everything in a ~170kiB executable.

Hi, How can I speed up the download speed in utorrent ? Pls advice me...
Now it's download speed is not more than 2.5kbs...
1. Try to find torrents with more seeders
2. If there are seeders and you can't connect to many of them, increase the number of connections
3. Try private trackers

Answer for the thread topic - uTorrent

    Answer to pubudu_dias's question -
If ur getting only 2.5kBps, my guess is that what ever ur downloading, it's a really rare file and must be having only a few seeders.... So my advice would be to find a site with more seeders like Anusha has said or what I personally would do is to try and find the same file on a private tracker.... (if u don't have any private trackers, chk out the post I made at Private Torrent Trackers Open For Signups) the reason is, even if the private trackers have a few seeders, those seeders will be having really high bandwidths... (like 20Mbps not like out SLT 512kbps ones). So the chances of getting high download speeds are much better....

You are correct, but i's not entirely the reason why we get high speeds in private tracker. The ratio maintenance has a lot to do with it.

In public trackers, we are not compelled to upload. Some people will upload it for the sake of bit torrent. Well, that should be the spirit. But we know we won't, right? Why? We don't have enough space to keep the files we download for months without deleting. And for a 512k connection, we can't really upload more than 8kBps-10kBps without slowing down out downloads. People having more bandwidths might not still upload or maybe they will give a small band to the public trackers and a larger bandwidth to the private trackers. So even with hundreds of seeders, we might not get the full speed.

In private trackers, we have to upload. Every good thing comes at a cost. Because everyone is uploading what they download at full speed, even if we have 5 or 6 seeders, we might still get full speed (i.e. 50kBps+).

Sometimes there are thousands of seeders in public trackers but we might still be getting a slow download speed. If this is the case, you can try increasing the:
    1. Global maximum number of connections
    2. Maximum number of connected peers per torrent
    in uTorrent Preferences.
