A claymore mine planted by the LTTE terrorists with the motive of attacking the innocent civilians has been found by the police personnel at Borella in Colombo this morning (Tuesday the 22nd of August).
On an information received by the civilians the policemen found a paddle cycle parked on the D.S Senanayake road ,near the Hatton National Bank at Borella at 10.00 a.m.
The 10- 15kg side charger was found hidden inside a box, appeared to be a container of vegetables on the luggage of the paddle cycle.
The bomb has been disposed by the bomb disposal team of special Task Force. According to the sources the bomb was designed to activate by a remote control device.
