Absolutely No Idea..!!

I am having a problem with windows explorer in XP.... when i boot up the computer windows starts and suddenly the task bar and the entire desktop blinks and disappears... when i check the processes list.... it shows explorer.exe is not running..
I cleaned all spyware but still the problem is there.. any one to help?

get task manager and run a new task with following command c:\

it will get the explorer

and yes in task manager run NEW TASK and type explorer there you go

See if the event log mentions any reason why this is happening.

Re-install windows...

Have two partitions...

1. For OS and Programs
2. For Data and the image you use to install (restore) windows with programmes installed - Acronis will be a good choice

If you feel like having a fresh installation... just waste some 10 or 15 mins and.... Tada....
