I use Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic -FREE... I tested it with some viruses n, yeah, it detected 'em all.... Interface is cool too...

Uses less system resources than even AVG Free I guess...

Download (Windows XP/Vista)

P.S - This free version doesn't support POP3 protection... No harm 4 me, coz I use webmail n I use ma browser Firefox to view them when Pidgin alerts when i have new mail....

Hope u'd love it too...

Ny way, in detection rate, it is better than it's free competitors AVG and Avast...

detection rate is far better than avast... I used some very recent viruses against all anti-virus programs n Avast didn't detect all... But AVG and Avira Antivir did..

+ from all reviews i've seen avira has a better detection rate n it seems tht it consumes even less system resources... n the interface is cooler thn AVG too...

Only con is tht this free version dsnt hv POP3 scan... Still, it's no big deal here, coz i use ma browser to check ma mail (webmail ne)... he he!

He he! In our university labs there are a hell lot of viruses! Wow! What a collection... After my exam I'll put a thread, filled with viruses... Anusha has a lot with him too... (Rar d n encrypted) he he... Avira does the job.. n not bulky as norton or mcafee or....

Makes me feel like I'm back with NOD32... But this is free ne.. so bette ne!

Well, I nevr needed those n do not need now... Wht i need is some antivirus protection tht protects me when i plugin ma pen after using at uni! ny way, if u r really in to free n legal softwares, use zonealarm or some tihng... he he! If not, use wht u use... :P:P:P .. Ny way, I enjoy Avira... So thought to give the mesage to all ma buddies.. he he!

U are constrained within ur 64-bit limit... where as I have a more degree of freedom to move around with all x86 cool stuff... he he! lol!

After all, having sm AV in better than having NO AV ne.. ;) :P

Constrained? Huh? I can install anything if I wanted to. I won't because it's ugly...:frown:
