Well I'd put it like this. I'm blaming a Sirasa directly. But that doesn't mean Rupavahini, ITN and other channels r better than Sirasa. I don't like to talk about them because they r completely useless channels. But the real problem is Sirasa is clearly wash over our people's ability to think. I'll put it this way...
I am strongly believe to make a strong and healthy nation, its people must understand their cultural values and must develop their capacity to understand something. And to understand a certain thing, the person must have a clear mind with a logical brain.
And as we know, media is the key to control this. Doesn't matter whether its TV, Radio, newspapers or even books. So these are directly affecting person's thoughts. That's why we loved to be the Tarzan and Night Rider when we were little.
So at the present all we can see what sort of programs Sirasa presents. 99% of them don't have any core value. And most of them are kind of third class programs. Ran dhepaya, Magic box, Nethra, Ahanna asai Gayanna are few examples. Even SSS.
I believe LTTE will never able to raise their head until the present government defeated. And that's what UNP wants. So the best thing is to control people's mind through the media. So this is Sirasa's job now.
Now whole Sri Lanka has become Sirasa. And their heads are getting useless day by day. Soon Sirasa will start to control people as they want both mentally and politically.
This is called "Brain washing" and I think now it is time to people to stand against this destructive channel....
