Navy sailor averts terror bloodbath in Anuradhapura

[February 10, 2008]

A Sri Lanka Navy Petty Officer while on leave has averted a bloodbath attempted by LTTE terrorists in the Anuradhapura town by defusing a bomb weighing 1.5kg this afternoon (February 10).

The powerful time bomb found at the Anuradhapura Sunday fair was spotted by a sailor who happened to pass by the place with his family. The bomb was later defused saving many lives.
