processor overheating

i highly believe that the heat sink is not properly fixed to the CPU.

I believe that the LGA 775 chip u have... There is a greater chance that the sink is not properly fixed or the fan isnt working properly or there is a thick dust layer covering the heat sink fins. Put a reply stating which one it is...

anyhw yep itz LGA 775 chip...i dont think that i didnt fixed ma fan propely..coz i tried abt 5 or 6 tyms...no dusts covering da heat sink fans n am sure dat da fans r working properly.....but ol da tym itz max rpm is below than 4000 .....

Hey,

Download a tool like Speedfan or Everest and check for the temperature. BIOS or the software that comes with the mobo can be reading wrong.

If the temps are really wrong, try and reseat the HSF.

If you removed the HSF before this overheating occurred, maybe the contact is bad. Did u use a thermal paste?
