23rd Commemoration of Sri Maha Bodhi Massacre by the LTTE Tamil Terrorists , today
The LTTE Tamil Terrorists attacked the Buddhist devotees who were observing ‘Sil’ the eight noble precepts in the shade of the sacred Bo tree in the sacred city of Anuradhapura, 23 years ago on 14th of May, the holy month of Buddhists the world over. This was most barbaric of blasphemy in the history of Sri Lanka since the attack caused an unprecedented blood bath.
Actually, what made the LTTE target the most sacred place of worship when innocent devotees gathered? It is crystal clear that by this barbaric act, they exhibited their callous disregard for religion in general and the Sinhaese Buddhists in particular. By their callousness towards religion in general they disowned themselves from the principles of all faiths.
In this backdrop it is clear that the irreligious LTTE wanted to cause ethnic blood letting. Thus they proved themselves that they are out and out terrorists and not freedom fighters.
