I’ve been playing with iPhone app Band since it went live on the App Store, and it’s pretty fun. But if you’re looking for a more fully-featured iPhone music creation app,
BeatMaker might be the one to go for. It went live today, and although pricey (£11.99, 15,99€, 24,90 USD), it’s got lots more features for prosumer musos.
It’s part beatbox hardware, part loop sampler, and part software sequencer, letting you put together your own tracks, using samples from a big library.
There’s a proper step sequencer built in, plus the ability to save your masterpieces and then share them with the BeatMaker community.

If you’re suitably clued-up on this digital music-making lark, BeatMaker is well worth a look.
